Do I need a retail company to self publish my book?
I wrote a book and want to publish and sell it. I don’t really mind if it doesn’t sell well – I really just want to sell a couple hundred to people I know and to some local stores.
I know I need an ISBN number for the book. BUT, do I need to have an LLC or a business to sell the book or can I just do this myself (and collect sales tax if its sold in state) or any kind of retailer license?
What else do I need? Again, this is just for a few hundred copies tops.
Thanks!
I sell my self published books to local strores and have no ISBN. Since I’m selling wholesale, not retail, I’m not the one collecting or paying sales tax. Check the laws in your own location.
