Nothingness as a scene in a story can it be done?
This might be easily answered if the the story was just a written novel or book, but what if it might be something visual like a movie or comic. FYI I am new to story telling and it’s vital to something I’m working on. This nothingness is a place and point in time for the main character. All I’d like is tips really nothing concrete, for the answers I seek are ideas and nothing more.I will take all answers and figure out the best course of action from each.
There can not be nothing without something. Therefore to have nothing, you must imagine a place without something. When looking at it this way, you can not have complete nothingness as a scene just as you cannot have a scene with everything. That being said, if you expand on your nothing, you might come extremely close to nothing. For example, for some reason many people perceive that a scene that’s completely white or completely black is a scene of nothingness. Although this is not true, it truly being a scene of black or white, people seem to regard it as nothing. Also black holes seem to suck everything into nothing, which may or may not be true. You might be able to run away with the black hole idea. However, for a visual story, keep in mind the multiple symbols of black and white, they will help give literary credit to your story.
