Any ideas for a book about manifest destiny??
I need to write a 15-25 page childrens book describing life on the frontier suitable for children ages 5-8 years old. Each page must have 2-3 lines and creative artwork that tells a story with a moral for a young Native American or an American pioneer. The plot of the story should be about manifest destiny… Please help me
Well, if you are doing this for little kids, you need to tone it down some, because it is not a pretty story.
But I think you need to somehow capture the idea that the Native Americans were betrayed by the white man.
In the early days of American expansion, the whites and Indians go along pretty well. It was only when the white man began to disrupt their way of life that thiings got difficult.
You could write something about the slaughter of the buffalo and how that disrupted the Indians’ food supply. So the moral of the story is that a person needs to always be sensitive to the way of life of another and not tread on it blindly.
That’s a thought. This is a tough subject, and very emotional for many. Good luck.
