questions about writing a novel?
It’s a dream of becoming a writer, and I want to pursue that. I already wrote two books, but I’m not sure if they’re that good. I’m in the process of editing them. I decided to write another book, but I would like your advise before I decide to do so.
I want to write stories dealing with different issues (ex: bullying, girls lured through chat rooms….etc.) I looked at the bookstore, but I’m unsure what section to look. Does anyone know what areas stories like that would come under (ex: teen fiction, literature). Are stories like these sellable and/or interesting?
I would also like to know how writer’s get ideas for stories? What makes their stories compelling enough? I read books, but sometimes unsure what to write about. Any input would be helpful.
Just don’t let go of your dream of being a good writer. You can’t pursue without it.
Have a good relative, your mother or a friend to read your novel. Tell them to tell the truth about it. In that way, you’ll see the strength of your work and on what way you can improve the novel.
You have to rewrite and edit it. No one can do it in one stroke at all.
In writing novel, you have to have lots and lots of experience. Where you can get it? One way is reading, but be sure that you don’t copy it. Another is to watch movies or anything. And learn about your topic. For example bullying, experience how to be bullied and etc etc. Reseach about it.
And who knows your book might be a hit. Your choice of topic is good as it complies with the recent happenings and problems in the world. For me its interesting. Even if its not interesting, it depends on the writer on how he dealt with it and wrote it. goodluck!
