Book Publishing Deals Money

book publishing deals money
I have almost finished writing my first book, where should I go from here, for instance…?

Where can I find an editor, and do I really need an agent like every one entails?
Even if my 210pg book does not get published and sold, if I publish it myself, and than write other books, will my first book give me substanal credentals for later projects?
Is there a significance in my already three offered to be published poems?
How long does the publishing process take, (not that I am in need of money, its more or less that I want in early start, so I can build up a large reputation as a best seller, one day)?
And will I enconter animosity, if I promise to save 5% percent of all of my earnings in a appointed account, for the elimination of American poverty, as a major goal (during the course of my life), and place a notice of this goal of mine on the back cover of every book I sell?
Are there certain publishers that deal with certain books, for instance mine is a non-fiction?
Thanks for any information whatsoever on the matter.
Yeah, I need to know a lot. :)

Ok, you ask for a lot of information, but i will do my best to help u.
I would recommend self-publishing. I self-published a book of poetry through http://www.lulu.com/
Lulu are completely free and very easy to use. You can then buy a global distribution, or ISBN, which will put your book on Barnes and noble, borders, amazon…. i really like lulu, i think they are great. They also offer a great customer service if you get stuck. Once published with them, you automatically get the copyright, and u keep all rights to it.
I had my book professionally edited by a great lulu-approved editor, they were helpful, friendly and very useful. here is a link to a list of editors: http://www.lulu.com/browse/index.php?fca…
all these editors are approved by lulu.com (a great self-publishers, but you can use the editors without using lulu)
The editor i used was very reasonably priced. I believe i used editor ranked number 1 on the lulu service provider ranking.
If you think they are too good to be true (which was my original opinion) you can view my book at http://www.lulu.com/dchooper
The publishing process on Lulu takes about 1-2 hours, depends how fast u go through the process. You can put u life goal about american poverty on the back, and it might increase your sells a bit. Lulu publoish any type of book, fiction and non-fiction.
Hope this helps,
Cheers, Deanna
